Industry has produced and advertises any number of products for cleansing clothes, bodies and places. But nothing can remove the stain of guilt from our failures in everyday walk of life. Heavenly assistance is always provided to support us with the necessity for cleansing. In Psalm 51:7, the holy anointed King David cried for a perfect shower. "Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow." Everyone sins, everyone is guilty and everyone needs the perfect shower. Understanding our failures and inability to get rid of our habit to sin, Divine Father extends His mercy of the perfect shower. All we need to do as we mature in faith is, as advised by St. John in today's verse, humbly accept this mystery and confess, believe, and get cleansed. Amen!
