Harvest with Joy
Divine Word that is sent from heaven requires human mind to receive, nurture and produce fruits in faith. "This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent." (John 6:29) Life of a Christian involves suffering, hardships, and tears in this world but has definite reward in the afterlife. "In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage—I have conquered the world."(John 16:33) Heavens send special angels to gather harvest—be it big or small, ordinary or special. "Still other seeds fell on fertile soil, and they produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted!" (Matthew 13:8) David declares that time of harvest is definitely one that with shouts of joy. Paul also reinforces the reward that awaits for every believer who keeps the faith until the last breath. "I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith. And now there is waiting for me the victory prize of being put right with God, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who wait with love for him to appear." (2 Timothy 4:7-8) The desire of the Savior is that we sit and dine with Him for eternity. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John 14:3) Trip to heavenly banquet all of us will make, not empty-handed but at least with some good deeds: "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." (Revelation 14:13)
Abba, thank you for giving us faith in Your Son that we may produce for your harvest. Let your Spirit encourage us everyday. Amen.
