I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Rev 21:2

Kingdom Desire

John, an ambassador from the island of Patmos, left for heaven for a privileged short trip and was given a glimpse of new Jerusalem which is beyond expression and imaginations. He also received a command to record the reality yet to come as he heard in a loud voice the promised kingdom, where "there will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain" (Rev 21:4). On His first earthly visit Jesus Himself taught to His apostles to yearn for kingdom as quoted in Mt 6:10, "Thy kingdom come." Down the centuries believers have forgotten the kingdom desire which should be the priority of churches or ministries or an individual or communities of Christ the King.  “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11) As we wait for His return let us revive, refresh and renew the kingdom desire revealed in today's reflection.

Abba, help me thirst and desire your kingdom more and more. Let your Spirit fill my mind with the kingdom desire. Amen.
