The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. Jn 1:9

Let's Be Light

The King of kings and the Lord of lords "who dwells in unapproachable light" (1 Tim 6:16) commanded "Let there be light" (Gen 1:2), the light that dispelled the darkness that was engulfing everything. Darkness has a vantage point for the enemy, be it in places or on the minds of humans. That is why, descending from Heaven, the Divine Word, who took flesh declared, "I am the light of the world." (Jn 8:12), also desires that those who follow him themselves shall remain torch bearers of Christ, the Light; "You are the light of the world. " (Mt 5:14) and that "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Mt 5:16). Life that needs to be checked up can be scanned by approaching the Incarnated Light that revealed--Peter self-declared as a sinner (Lk 5:8), Nathaniel's blamelessness announced (Jn 1:47), and the woman who came to the well was revealed about her hidden and shameful past (Jn 4: 1-30). Fire, another form of light, purifies and removes stains of sins that need complete cleansing to make perfect jewels, "as fire tests and purifies gold" (1 Pet 1:7). God, the "consuming fire" (Heb 12:29) sent His Spirit that descended on the apostles on the day of Pentecost, "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them" (Acts 2:3). Let's remain in light and remain the light and desire the holy anointing of fire.

Abba, help us remain lights of the world. Let your Spirit constantly illuminate our minds and lives. Amen.
