And judge not, and ye shall not be judged: and condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: release, and ye shall be released. Lk 6:37

Practice Mercy

The attitudes of judging, condemning and blaming began by contact with the enemy, "the accuser of our brothers" (Rev 12:10) after the fall of the first family. Believers of Christ have to follow the principles of Christ and lead the life of His Kingdom nature, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Mt 5:7). Convenient forgetfulness about our weaknesses and exaggeration of others' failures and mistakes can be also a sinful tendency unnoticed, “Whoever hasn’t sinned should throw the first stone” (John 8:7). Christ also reminds us of our hidden selves which we can only be aware of, "And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?” (Mt 7:3). Extend mercy, practice mercy and believe in mercy for we all need mercy.

Abba, help me be merciful as I am provided unconditionally. Let your Spirit keep reminding this mystery. Amen.
