And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. Gen 1:31

Be Amazed

The Creator got amazed and stunned at the beauty of His creation that was in perfect order, “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good” (Gen 1:31). Exclamation of the brilliance of His master craft, that sustains itself effortless in beauty and splendour, is marvelled by His Son when His visit on earth, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” (Mt 6:26-30). Lessons of life can be derived by looking at the marvellous beauty of His creation. Poets have been amazed and philosophers have been surprised at the mystery of creation. Let’s take time, despite being worried about our personal lives, to gaze and be amused at the wonders that surround us, that can reveal lessons of life beyond our grasp. Sitting out and staring at the mysteries of His creation can also be translated as a form of prayer and prayer of praise. Let’s be humble enough to meditate on the beauty that is kept in every one and every thing.

Abba, help us learn and appreciate the beauty of Your master creation. Let your Spirit rejoice in us as we glance and praise, in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
