Protect Them
This planet gets confirmation that God is still kind to mankind, for He is sending gifts every day in the form of new children: “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.” (Ps 127:3-5). As adults we have no right over children, for we were also children, and the Lord’s protective measures are kept in their favour: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Mt 18:10). Let’s imitate the lessons they keep manifesting by their innocence and forgiveness, despite our attitudes toward them: “At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’” (Mt 18:1-3). Greet children when you meet, wave at them, for when they greet back you are blessed; God has kept them for your blessing.
Abba, thank you for sending us children. Let your Spirit help us maintain the innocence of children that we might inherit Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, may I continuously open to Your Spirit of fatherly love, that I live with the spirit of a trusting, happy child*
