Pastoring His Sheep
The amazing love of God extends and supports, when His children, who believe in His unfailing protection, trust in His providence, for He is full of compassion, as Jesus Himself has manifested: “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Mt 9:36). The Creator, who has the sincerest love towards His children, when the so-called shepherds failed, promised, through His prophet, to send among them, His own prophet, in the form of a shepherd: “And I will give you shepherds according to mine own heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jer 3:15). But the True Shepherd, who came on earth in the human form, even though He is one among the Trinity, expressed His desire and concern for human need, and said He wanted to save, and did that in action: “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (Jn 10:11). Let’s praise God for protecting us with the shepherds, who are watching over us, day and night.
Abba, thank You for keeping us in Your herd. Let Your Spirit help us appreciate and enjoy your pastoring, in Jesus’ Most Glorious Name, Amen.
