Praise Him High
The invitation to praise God, comes very often in the hymns of David, the Psalmist, for he knows that it is one of the best forms of prayer: “It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp” (Ps 92:1-3). Paul invites the believers, to come to the church with new hymns: “What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation” (1 Cor 14:26). While writing an epistle, to the community in Ephesus, he highlighted the importance of songs, that would praise our God, the Most High: “speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord” (Eph 5:19). Let’s gather together and worship Him, by signing praises of what He is, and what He has done for us.
Abba, thank You for accepting our praises, even though we are unworthy. Let Your Spirit rejoice, as we sing and praise you. In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
