We, the children of God, should believe, that our dearest Father wants us to live a good and long life. We have to hold on to the promise of God, that is recorded in the hymn by David: “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation” (Ps 91:16). David confirms this in another song, “He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever” (Ps 21:4). Solomon, the wise man, expresses that, not only we receive what we have requested, but our God generously provides serenity and wealth, for He knows that we need these additional blessings, “for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity” (Prov 3:2). Let’s praise Him continuously, in advance, for He answers our prayers.

Abba, thank You for Your promise of the blessing of long life, and giving us faith to hold on to that. Let Your Spirit lead us through this upcoming long life. In Jesus’ Most Holy Name, Amen.
