Acknowledging and Honoring
The best form of prayer one can ever offer to God, is one of thanksgiving for all the blessings that he keeps receiving every moment of his life; hence, David invites us to proclaim His constant love, early in the morning: “How good it is to give thanks to you, O Lord, to sing in your honor, O Most High God, to proclaim your constant love every morning and your faithfulness every night” (Ps 92:1-2). Meditating on the thoughts and actions of God, that are toward our favor, would bring us spiritually closer to Him, as Psalmist sings: “How great are your actions, Lord! How deep are your thoughts!” (Ps 92:5). The person who acknowledges and honors God’s activity that is in his favor, is compared to the righteous and a palm tree, that bears fruit even in old age, and remains green and strong. The blessing from Heaven that the child of God yearns, should be one like David composed: “The righteous will flourish like palm trees; they will grow like the cedars of Lebanon. They are like trees planted in the house of the Lord, that flourish in the Temple of our God, that still bear fruit in old age and are always green and strong” (Ps 92:12-14). Let the mercy of God fill our lives, with the above said blessings.
Abba, thank You for remembering us, and acting in our favor. Let Your Spirit help us grow green and strong in Your presence, in Jesus’ Most Merciful Name, Amen.
