Sharing His Light
The grace of God shed its light upon the earth, to look for mankind that was stumbling in the darkness of sin, and extended pardon and peace, and made them share His own glory and illumination, by giving a new status. Peter the Chief Apostle declares: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9). The command Christ gave, He being the light of the world, to his followers, was to make the world witness the true light that demonstrates by producing good works among the world: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Mt 5:16). Paul, the pioneer evangelist, takes utmost care to remind and motivate us, to live up to the vocation that we received as partakers of His Kingdom and glory, in a most effective and kind manner: “We encouraged you and comforted you as we urged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into His kingdom and glory” (1 These 2:12). Let’s be mindful, and passionate about this rarest privilege we hold, as ambassador’s of Christ.
Abba, thank You for sharing Your Son’s light and Your glory. Let Your Spirit enable us to live up to this most privileged responsibility that is set on our shoulders. In Jesus’ Most Mighty Name, Amen.
