Protection and providence are assured for anyone who would trust and wait for the Lord, as David himself confirms in his hymn, “Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD” (Ps 27:14). The words Moses himself delivered to Joshua, not only encouraged him but also affirmed his faith in the unfailing company of the Lord for His people, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deut 31:8). The greatest promise Christ offered at the time of His departure, is still valid for He abides with His believers always, “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Mt 28:20). Let’s hold onto the words of the Lord, and remain protected.

Abba, thank You for assuring us of your presence that protects. Let Your Spirit fill our minds with faith and hope, in Jesus’ Most Mighty Name, Amen.
