Asking for Blessing
The Holy Bible teaches us how to remain blessed in various ways. David shares his way of receiving blessings, as asking for them with faith and trust, “I asked the Lord for help, and he answered me. He saved me from all that I feared” (Ps 34:4). Many have received the greatest blessings by asking for them, and that is why Jesus has said very clearly, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Mt 7:7). We have a loving Father as our God, who carefully attends to our cries and releases us of all our situations of pain, as David reemphasizes in the same hymn, “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles” (Ps 34:6). May we cultivate the habit of humbling ourselves before the Lord, and ask for blessings.
Abba, thank You for hearing our cries for various needs. Let Your Spirit pray along with us, that we may remain healed and blessed. In Jesus’ Most Mighty Name, Amen.
