Let Him Exalt
Every loving father would want his children to be exalted, but the child needs humility and obedience to cooperate with the will of the parent. A similar advice is given by Peter, the chief apostle, for the believers to humble themselves before God: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time” (1 Pet 5:6). Self-exaltation is not a proper attitude of a person who believes in God’s guidance, for Christ also gave a warning to His followers regarding the necessary attitude for God’s blessing: “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted” (Mt 23:12). Temptation to take life in our own hands, may be a deception given by the enemy, and that is why Apostle James also assures God’s exaltation for the humbling believers: “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you” (Jam 4:10). Let’s firmly believe in His exalting hands, that rejoice seeing the children in good positions.
Abba, thank You for extending Your Mighty Hands to raise us up. Let Your Spirit keep us anchored in the virtue of humility. In Jesus’ Most Victorious Name, Amen.
