Life of Hope
The situations and struggles of life, try to steal away the hope that is to stay as the foundation of our lives: hope not in ourselves but in the Lord, as David invites us to believe, “Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption” (Ps 130:7). An absolute necessity of a faith-filled life is based on maintaining and persevering in hope, and that is why David continues to sing, “Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever” (Ps 131:3). The real challenge of the Christian life is, never giving up on trusting in God, amidst any circumstances, and that is why Prophet Jeremiah is amazed and appreciates the marvel of the soul that keeps the hope, “Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is” (Jer 17:7). May we never doubt the power of the Lord, who can redeem us and bless us, however our lives may seem.
Abba, thank You for inviting us to remain hopeful. Let Your Spirit enable us to trust in You, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
