Situations of life may cause us to fear and doubt, but that is when we need to hold on to His promise that protects us in any situation, as recorded by the psalmist: “A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you” (Ps 91:7). The mystery of our protection depends, not on our knowledge or capacity to survive, but keeping Him the Lord of our lives: “Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place” (Ps 91:9). Two of the most important blessings are assured as additional gifts: satisfied long life here, and eternal salvation there; “With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation” (Ps 91:16). To enjoy the rarest and perpetual covering by Him, let’s make Him the Lord of our life, and renew the covenant day by day. 

Abba, thank You for accepting us into Your care. Let Your Spirit keep us calm and stable amidst any situation. In Jesus’ Most Protecting Name, Amen.
