Highlighting the Prayer
The human beings, out of their habitual act of forgetfulness, have the tendency to stress things that they consider are very important, by repeating, or while writing, by highlighting, underlining, and italicizing. Even though we declare and believe that our God watches over us day and night, when addressing our prayers to Him, out of fear and the importance of the thing we request, like children pestering the parents, we keep on reminding our necessities and concerns. It is astonishing that even David, the anointed servant of God also highlights when he prayed: “Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people. Oh, visit me with Your salvation” (Ps 106:4). Prophet Nehemiah, who had a great concern for rebuilding the house of God, also emphasized his concerns: “Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out my loyal deeds which I have performed for the house of my God and its services” (Neh 13:14). One of the criminals, who was crucified along with Christ, also implored the Lord, got his prayer answered immediately when he pleaded to remember him: “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Lk 23:42). Like a child, let’s look up to our Heavenly Father, and place our needs, and request Him to remember us.
Abba, thank You for remembering us and all our needs. Let Your Spirit help us remember that You remember us always, in Jesus’ Most Loving Name, Amen.
