Ways to Worship
Out of his abundant experience, David suggests the most important elements in worship, that have to be kept in mind; thanksgiving, praise, and blessing of His name make the rightful worship, as he has written in the psalm: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name” (Ps 100:4). Very often, we tend to approach the Lord with a heavy heart, for our souls are afflicted, but David suggests to disregard our present situations, and to sing aloud to our Creator, for that is His due; hence, “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!” (Ps 100:1). He also insists upon another condition, of gladness and singing, that are hard to practice but pleases the One who we all serve: “Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing” (Ps 100:2). May God fill our souls with gladness, that we may worship Him the way He deserves to be honored.
Abba, thank You for accepting our worship as it is. Let Your Spirit help us come to Your sanctuary with loud voices of singing, thanksgiving and blessing. In Jesus’ Most Precious Name, Amen.
