Witnesses of Christ
The primary duty of the church is that any believer is to live as a witness of Christ, as we received the command from Christ Himself, “And you will be witnesses for me in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The courage and commitment to fulfil this divinely appointed task can only be achieved with the power of the Holy Spirit, and that is why Jesus promised them of the power: “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power” (Acts 1:8). See, how natural it became for Peter to get rid of his fear, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and say, “God has raised this very Jesus from death, and we are all witnesses to this fact” (Acts 2:32). May we all thirst for the empowerment of the holy anointing of His Spirit, that would enable us to be the true witnesses of Christ.
Abba, thank You for entrusting us with the duty of being witnesses of Your Son. Let Your Spirit strengthen us by His anointing, to complete the task of living as His Witnesses every day, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
