The greatest gift Jesus gave the apostles was, the authority to use His Name in times of real need: “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14). When the man, who was crippled from birth, requested the apostles for alms, Peter realised that he had nothing to offer but instantly remembered what his Master had authorised him with, and exercised the ministry of healing in Jesus’ Name: “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). When the puzzled Jewish authorities asked for an explanation, Peter courageously declared that the name of Jesus healed, “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know” (Acts 3:16). Let’s praise God for giving us His Son’s Name as an inheritance to enjoy miracles and healing.

Abba, thank You for Your Son’s Name that sets us free from sicknesses. Let Your Spirit encourage us to exercise the authority that is been given, in Jesus’ Most Healing Name, Amen.
