Ministry With Power
Winning over the forty days of temptation of the devil, Jesus straight away took up His God-given mission: “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country” (Lk 4:14). The news about the arrest of John the Baptist did not hinder Him from proclaiming God’s Kingdom: “Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God” (Mk 1:14). The only dependence Jesus had was upon His Father’s presence with Him, and the Holy Spirit’s power with Him: “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him” (Acts 10:38). Let us follow the footsteps of Christ, by accepting His way of ministry with power that does good and heals the oppressed.
Abba, thank You for making us partakers of Your Son’s Ministry with power. Let Your Spirit’s anointing and power enable us to proclaim the Kingdom, by doing good and healing the oppressed, in Jesus’ Most Healing Name, Amen.
