Withstand the Test
When there is a test, it is natural for a believer to question and ask why this should happen to him, or why he should pass through this way. But a careful reading of the bible would reveal that testing is part of our spiritual life, and even the father of faith, Abraham, or the Son of God, Jesus Himself were not exempted from passing through it, as Paul says, “Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people” (1 Cor 10:13). But what needs to be kept in mind is that God is there by our side to strengthen and support: “at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out” (1 Cor 10:13). As He is the One who designed us, He would never allow us to go through beyond our capacity, and we should trust Him for that: “But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm” (1 Cor 10:13). May we be encouraged by this passage and ask His help when we need, for He is ready to help, and always faithful.
Abba, Thank You so much for strengthening us when we are weak. Let Your Spirit abide within us and lead us to pass and withstand the testing. In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
