Word of Fire
Since human language is inadequate to explain the power of God’s Word, the imagery of fire that consumes and transforms is given to Prophet Jeremiah, to explain the fiery nature of His Word: “‘Is not my word like fire,’ declares the LORD, ‘and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?’” (Jer 23:29). The disciples, who were conversing on the way to Emmaeus, had the privilege of being accompanied by the presence of the Incarnate Word, explaining the mysteries of the holy Scriptures, and enjoyed the gentle warmth of the Word of Fire: “They said to one another, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?’” (Luke 24:32). As believers of the Holy Word of God, may we approach Him with the sincerest thirst and desire, and experience the glimpse of His anointing of Fire.
Abba thank You so much for touching us with the gentle warmth of your word of fire. Let your Spirit rekindle the flame of anointing to keep us fully alive, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
