Being in the world, the real believer is constantly troubled by the loud noise of the false prophets, who attempt to mislead the children of God into ways of the world; hence John reminds us of the truth that the enemy has been defeated and overcome by our Master and Savior Jesus on the cross, and that we enjoy the privilege of being the winners forever and ever: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 Jn 4:4). And the greatest gift He has sent to be with us, is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, who is greater than anyone and anything that approaches us. We need not fear or worry about anything regarding the enemy, but declare and claim the victory that is already won in our favor. With the strength and support of the Indwelling Spirit, we are always winning any battle, for He is the strength-matchless and defeats the enemy.  

Abba, thank You for making us overcomers by Your Son’s victory. Let Your Spirit dwell in us and strengthen us to enjoy the victory, in Jesus’ Mightiest Name, Amen.
