The duty of a true Christian is to follow the path of love, that is expressed in its completion in the very life of Jesus. Not being bothered by the numerous laws that were in tradition, He highlighted the supremacy of love as the completion of all law, in His response to the teacher of law: “And you must love God with all your heart and with all your mind and with all your strength; and you must love your neighbor as you love yourself” (Mk 12:33). Only God can see the heart of a person, if he or she loves Him or not, but the outward expression of following the love of Christ is definitely manifested in the charity towards the fellow human being, who is troubled by overburden; hence Paul requests us to be mindful in helping those in need: “Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ” (Gal 6:2). May God fill our hearts with compassion, that our adherence of the law of Christ benefit mankind. 

Abba, thank You for giving us the law of Christ to love You and mankind. Let Your Spirit enable us to express it in all activities of our daily life, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
