Honest people will lead a full, happy life. But if you are in a hurry to get rich, you are going to be punished. Prov 28:20

Reward of Honesty

Even the sincerest people, due to fear about the future and extreme financial situations, half-heartedly prefer dishonesty as a means for becoming full and rich. But the philosopher, out of his wisdom, emphatically states that only honesty would win in the long run and give us the desired life of satisfaction: “Honest people will lead a full, happy life” (Prov 28:20). If we have an eye to observe and notice the latter days of dishonest people, who bitterly resent the consequence of their choice of dishonesty over the virtuous means of making money, we would never attempt the dishonest means, even if it promises unimaginably big money. Hence, a warning is been extended to anyone who desires to be good and adhere to honest means: “But if you are in a hurry to get rich, you are going to be punished” (Prov 28:20). May we trust in the goodness of the virtue of honesty, that would definitely reward us the full and happy life.

Abba, thank You for showing us the path of honesty to the means of happy life. Let Your Spirit convince us to stand by this virtue all our life, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
