Gratitude Is Proclaimed
When we are in need and struggle we cry out to God, but when the prayers are answered, we tend to forget the favors we have received. The psalmist’s attitude needs to be imitated as we continue to enjoy blessings from the hands of God: “We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks to you!” (Ps 75:1). Not all of us are preachers or have the opportunity to proclaim from the pulpit, but we have the duty of acknowledging the acts of God that enhance our wellbeing every day. This way of proclamation not only praises God, but helps other people to believe and depend on the mighty work of God and keeps the chain of gratitude extended: “We proclaim how great you are and tell of the wonderful things you have done” (Ps 75:1).
Abba, thank You for blessing us every day with Your acts of grace and support. Let Your Spirit keep us faithful in proclaiming our gratitude everyday, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
