The events that unfold in the life of an individual or that of the world have their own timing. This surprises everyone. But the author of the Book of Ecclesiastes declares his conviction that God is in control of making things happen in His own timing: “Everything that happens in this world happens at the time God chooses” (Ecc 3:1). That is why it is difficult to make desired things happen in our own timing by our own efforts alone. Hence, it is wise to depend upon God to make desired things happen by asking and praying for His timing. The incidents that are narrated in the Bible encourage us to pray that God may show His mercy and work a miracle in a supernatural way. When Mary reported to Jesus about the shortage of wine at the wedding at Cana, Jesus initially denied, saying: “My time has not yet come.” (Jn 2:4). But she told the servants to obey her son’s order and got a miracle, for she believed in her son’s capacity to choose and perform the required blessing. May we disregard our own situation and come unto Him to ask for the necessary blessings. 

Abba, thank You for choosing to bless us in Your Perfect Timing. Let Your Spirit bring us with prayers of petition for the needs of our lives. In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
