Being away from the Lord makes us fear and worry, and that is why it is important in life that we stay close to God. Even though Jesus approached the disciples by walking on the water and strengthened them, Peter suspected Him and wanted to verify for himself that it was Jesus Himself. The invitation from Jesus made Peter to walk on the water; “But when he noticed the strong wind, he was afraid and started to sink down in the water. ‘Save me, Lord!’ he cried. At once Jesus reached out and grabbed hold of him and said, ‘What little faith you have! Why did you doubt?’” (Mt 14:30-31). May we set our focus on Him, for He never abandons His own sheep and always reaches out and saves them by all means.

Abba, thank You for reaching out to us by sending Your Son to save us. Let Your Spirit confirm us in the faith of His unfailing and saving love, in Jesus’ Loveliest Name, Amen.
