Learn from Him
Wanting to be knowing as much as God knows, was the temptation placed before the first family, and their considering of that as an option instantly made them forget the lesson that God wanted them to remember for their wellbeing. The consequence of following the instruction of the embodiment of pride-the enemy, seduced them and made them fall irresistibly into practicing arrogance and pride. The only way to alter the course and get back to the line of blessing is by following the divinely arranged norm of humility, that has been taught and practiced by the living example of Christ: “Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest” (Mt 11:29). Even the apostles who were with Jesus failed to learn but exhibited their tendency of pride and arrogance several times, despite Christ repeatedly spoke to them and explained to the extend that He washed their feet. Hence, we need a constant awareness and conviction to follow this path of humility, to find the rest we all yearn and desire.
Abba, thank You for teaching us humility as a gateway to Your blessing and rest. Let Your Spirit convince us to learn from Your Son, gentleness and humility, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
