Everyday we must remind ourselves of our true identity so that we can behave appropriately as the children of God. The words we use and actions we take, express our disposition toward the people we relate to, and make an impression on them. Hence, a careful attention has to be maintained, as we are carrying out the duty of witnessing the gospel that is entrusted to us. Paul points out the importance of clothing ourselves with the virtues that would identify ourselves as God’s own children: “You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience” (Col 3:12). May we make our lives and those around us by decorating ourselves with the heavenly virtues that would conform that we belong to Him.

Abba, thank You so much for choosing us as Your own. Let Your Spirit enable us to wear the virtues appropriate to Your children, in Jesus’ Most Compassionate Name, Amen.
