Our purpose is to do what is right, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of others. 2 Cor 8:21

Doing the Right

Everyone knows what is right because, right from the childhood in family and society, and by many other means, we are taught what is right. But it is very difficult for us to follow those things we know as right. Only a person, who is disciplined and convinced of the principles that need to be practiced, desires and attempts to function according to his conscience, that gives him a peace of mind—a thing that is very special to enjoy. Knowing this, Paul adhered to doing what is right to please God, and set an example for fellow brethren: “Our purpose is to do what is right, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of others” (2 Cor 8:21). May we sincerely desire doing what is right, for it will bring us a definite blessing from the hands of God.

Abba, thank You for inspiring us to do the right, always and everywhere. Let Your Spirit lead us to practice what is right to stay blameless, in Jesus’ Most Righteous Name, Amen.
