Generally people give importance to so many things, such as individual self, family, business, and entertainment. But as we grow spiritually mature, we should give importance to God. Putting God above everything is an attitude we should cultivate and a decision we should make. In the life of John the Baptist, we could see such kind of humility very clearly; hence he said, “He must become more important while I become less important.” (Jn 3:30). May we ask God to give us the grace to prioritize Him and set His things above everything, and remain humble.

Abba, thank You for being more important for us, always. Let Your Spirit remind us to humble ourselves before You, in Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
