The modern world has developed multiple means and devices to make the lives of people joyful. But one thing that can bring the greatest joy to the soul of a person is being in the presence of God and enjoying His company. The comparison the psalmist makes between the joy we experience in His presence and the joy of being anywhere else, reveals that there can be nothing equal to the level of bliss we enjoy in His company: “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked” (Ps 84:10). May we sincerely desire the experience of being in the presence of God, and enjoy the unexplainable enfolding of His love.

Abba, thank You for inviting us to enjoy being in Your Presence. Let Your Spirit make us yearn for more of Your fellowship, in Jesus’ Most Loving Name, Amen.
