We have invented so many gadgets that fill our ears with a variety of voices and noises. Listening, even though it might appear a passive activity, in reality, it is very active and brings great wisdom and knowledge to the one who is willing to learn from hearing. When Jesus went to the house of Martha and Mary, while Martha was busy preparing dinner for Him, Mary took the opportunity to be by His side and listened to His wisdom, for which she was applauded: “She had a sister named Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord and listened to his teaching” (Lk 10:39). May we never miss an opportunity to listen to the Word of God, for it would bring us the greatest revelation and blessing. 

Abba, thank You for speaking to Your Children through various means. Let Your Spirit remind us to give heed to Your Blessed Voice, in Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
