The greatest longing of God is that His children desire and live in peace with one another, because that is the need of every individual, family and nation across the world. By our own efforts alone, we cannot establish true peace; hence, we need to pray to God, who is always willing to give it as a gift to His beloved children. Indeed, peace is one of the promises that God wants His people to have, as revealed to Prophet Jeremiah: “But I will heal this city and its people and restore them to health. I will show them abundant peace and security” (Jer 33:6). The presence of peace in our lives confirms the blessing of God upon us. May we sincerely pray for peace, that God alone can establish and remain under His sovereign care.

Abba, thank You for promising us the gift of peace. Let Your Spirit enable us to receive and live in peace, in Jesus’ Most Peaceful Name, Amen.
