None of us can claim to be justified by our own activities. We only need to depend upon His mercy that is the only hope we are left with. The experience of the psalmist invites us to trust and hold on to the mercy of God: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him" (Ps 103:13). He knows our inabilities, weaknesses and pain. So may we be confirmed of the love He has for His children, that forgives, strengthens and heals us.

Abba, thank You for having mercy upon us, Your children. Let Your Spirit make us depend upon You, in Jesus’ Most Loving Name, Amen.
