In the life of a Christian, there are so many battles that we need to face. When we look at the multitude of challenges ahead, we fear, doubt and worry. Instead, we should always look up to God, who, out of love and compassion, comes with us to defeat our enemies on our behalf and gives us protection and victory. He has told the Israelites: “When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you” (Deut 20:1). May we be strengthened by this protecting presence of the Lord and live courageously.

Abba, thank You so much for being with us everyday and making us courageous. Let Your Spirit strengthen us with the hope of Your presence among us, in Jesus’ Most Glorious Name, Amen.
