The culture of many countries is that they do not want the children to be dependant on parents once they reach a certain age. Parents disregard their children’s difficulties and force them to be independent, giving some convenient reasons. But God our Creator is never tired of us approaching Him with multitudes of needs time and time again. In fact He is happy about our dependency on Him because that is how He created us and intended us to be. David encourages us to trust in the loving kindness of God that understands all our frailties and weaknesses; thus he sings: “He knows what we are made of; he remembers that we are dust” (Ps 103:14). May we take full pride in our absolute dependency on Him—be it our tiredness, sickness, weakness and wellbeing, and live as His dearest children at any time of our lives.

Abba, Thank You for accepting us as we approach You. Let Your Spirit make us always rely on You everyday of our lives, In Jesus’ Most Loving Name, Amen.
