The expressions of a person truly reveal a set of things about himself - his fear, conviction, dependence, faith and so on. David, who hailed from a humble shepherd to the ruler, had so many things to handle other than his enemies. And he did not have enough knowledge or strength to handle the situations before him. But he knew one thing: God could support and protect when he submitted his care unto Him. He received as he believed and instantly shouted in joy and sang: "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." (Ps 28:7).  May we also have the same mind as David and surrender our lives  unto God, who definitely be our strength and shield that surrounds us to guard.

Abba, Thank You for being our strength and shield. Let Your Spirit keep us always under Your watchful protection. In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
