Whatever things we may desire, whatever things we may achieve, we should always maintain humility, for that is our great strength. One big protection we claim is the one that we receive from His promises. David shares a mystery: “Never forget your promises to me your servant, for they are my only hope. They give me strength in all my troubles; how they refresh and revive me!” (Ps 119:49-50) May we never boast about ourselves, for we will make mistakes in keeping our words, and that’s why it is better always to depend on His promises and stay safe.

Abba, Thank You for the promises that preserve life. Let Your Spirit make us enjoy being dependent on You, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
