For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Ps 27:5

Hiding Is Good

As we grow older we crave for attention and appreciation in public. Many of our personal efforts are taken to be in the limelight of getting praise and recognition in front of others. But it is not always safe to be in public or being in the high pedestal; and that is why in life we have certain period when we need to hide and keep ourselves safe. In spiritual life, we should not always combat with the enemy, who is waiting that we may grow weak and tired. Hence, a retreat is sometimes essential and very wise as a strategy. Given an option, we would never prefer hiding; that is why, for our assured wellbeing, God deliberately brings us under His cover to protect us from the troubles that we cannot even perceive or see, as David went through and understood: “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” (Ps 27:5). Let’s enjoy the hiding that is meant for our good, and regain strength for the battle that God would accompany us, and believe that He does everything for our good.

Abba, Thank You for guiding us in Your pavilion in times of trouble. Let Your Spirit make us trust in Your plan and timing, that would lead us to success and victory, In Jesus’ Most Protecting Name, Amen.
