Test Is Small
Read a book, no-one is going to expect you to repeat the entire thing when the test is done. Study the whole semester, no one is going to give you a test for which you have to sit and write all that you learned for months. That’s why, I tell you, test is small and sometimes very simple. In life, and in spiritual life too, we are assessed by the performance we make over small things, in small responsibilities; and then if we are faithful in that we are immediately elevated to the greatest positions, as Jesus Himself motivates us to be faithful over small things: “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” (Mt 25:23). May we never disregard or neglect the small or seemingly insignificant things that are entrusted with us, so that we will be rewarded with the unimaginably great responsibility by the Master whose test is always small. Let’s pray that God may grant us enthusiasm to labour small things with extraordinary commitment and passion.
Abba, Thank You for handing over to us small responsibilities. Let Your Spirit give us commitment so that we may pass the test that is small, and win the greatest responsibility from You, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
