Need for Endurance
Life of faith can be compared to the battle, where we need to maintain patience to prevail over the enemy and gain success. The temptation that arises to anyone in the life of faith is giving up, seeing the continuity of the battle, and yielding to withdraw or surrender. Endurance, patience and perseverance are the attitudes that we need to wear, besides keeping the commands of God and faith in Jesus: “This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.” (Rev 14:12) The target of the enemy is to attack our attitude of endurance, withstanding and perseverance. Hence, we need to ever exhibit our courage by our endurance, amidst any kind of discomfort or persecution. James declares the glorious reward that awaits such persons of undefeatable steadfastness: “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (Jam 1:12) May we earnestly pray that God sustains us in times of trials and temptation, with the withstanding courage.
Abba, Thank You for inviting us to maintain our patience. Let Your Spirit enable us with the strength of non-forsaking fortitude, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
