Spur One Another
The running becomes harder as the one who is on the race approaches the finish line, when the body gets exhausted and the mind full of suspicion and anxiety, and that is when the runner needs the best of encouragement and cheering, to successfully complete the race. Keeping in mind the necessity of stirring the spirit, the author writes and reminds us of the important role that we need to take as a team member: “And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works.” (Heb 10:24) And he goes on to explain how we can perform this, and also by highlighting the emergency of the hour of the game we all are in: “not abandoning our own meetings, as is the habit of some, but rather encouraging one another, and all the more since you see the Day drawing near.” (Heb 10:25) May God open our eyes that we may perceive the climax approaching, and vigorously take up the duty of inspiring one another by giving confidence and hope.
Abba, Thank You for spurring us as we are approaching the finish line of victory. Let Your Spirit constantly spur us to stir one another’s hope, In Jesus’ Most Uplifting Name, Amen.
