Compartments are there in a train that carries people, where certain coaches are reserved for dining and other best services. In spiritual life, there should be no compartment that is separate or kept apart and labeled as prayer time. Our full life—all activities that we undertake—has to be done in the name that we are given to utilize and win every step that we take throughout the day: “Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father.” (Col 3:17) The advice Paul provides today will enhance the march towards spiritual victory with still more courage and vigor, for we are told to do and say, in all our doing, all our saying—including anything and everything that we say and do, be it walking, eating, sleeping, working, meeting, and everything else—in the name that surely provides winning that we need to take and enjoy blessing and victory.

Abba, Thank You for enlightening us with the march that proceeds us to assured victory. Let Your Spirit hold us in this and lead us step by step every saying, every walking, horning the most holy name, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
