Ambassador represent the nation and hence he has the duty of representing his nation and speak for his president, for he is specially chosen and appointed at the outpost of his own nation, and whose voice should represent the president’s. Similar to this imagery, God chooses from among people a man and commissions him to be in a particular place, representing Him as His mouthpiece, whose voice has to be recognized and given due respect, for he speaks for the King, the King of Kings: “Adonai your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your midst—from your brothers. To him you must listen.” (Dt 18:15) Knowing who God has chosen and listening to his message is of utmost importance, for the simple reason that he does not speak for himself but for the King, for he is only the spokesperson and prophet, whose voice and message need to be listened and obeyed for the blessing from God.

Abba, Thank You for the promise of the prophet and Your message. Let Your Spirit make us recognize Your prophet among us, and give heed to the message that comes through him, In Jesus’ Most Powerful Name, Amen.
