“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” Mt 2:2

Come, Let’s Adore

Sometimes interesting things like this happen, they mark their destination, find the flight, book the ticket, tell their friends about the trip, and on their way something happens, and they miss the flight. Something similar happened to Jews when the foretold Messiah, who they had been awaiting for centuries, when He was born, they missed Him, but those who had no idea who Messiah was, or where He would be born, found a strange sign in the sky, a star that surprised them and their curiosity made them study, and immediately understood it was about the Messiah, and they set their sail, following the star that navigated them to the Messiah, to whom they pledged their worship and adoration, for they knew they are meeting a King, and hence went with the gifts, signing “O! Come, Let’s Adore Him!”: “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” Mt 2:2 The promised ones missed the Messiah, despite having all information, they kept in their memory, as they have memorized the text of the Prophet—they had about the whereabout and whoabout and all the details of the Messiah, yet they all missed Him. “When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, ‘In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet: “And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, Are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; For out of you shall come forth a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.”’ (Mt 2:3-6) May we follow the best example set by the magi, and be swift with gifts of praise, worship and adoration, for the King of Kings, our Messiah, has already set His sail. We would please Him with due reverence and preparation; however, He would surprise us on our way of meeting and worshiping Him.
