Take Moral Responsibility
They’re a faithless, feckless bunch,
a congregation of degenerates.
3-6
“Their tongues shoot out lies
like a bow shoots arrows—
A mighty army of liars,
the sworn enemies of truth.
They advance from one evil to the next,
ignorant of me.”
God’s Decree.
“Be wary of even longtime neighbors.
Don’t even trust your grandmother!
Brother schemes against brother,
like old cheating Jacob.
Friend against friend
spreads malicious gossip.
Neighbors gyp neighbors,
never telling the truth.
They’ve trained their tongues to tell lies,
and now they can’t tell the truth.
They pile wrong upon wrong, stack lie upon lie,
and refuse to know me.”
God’s Decree.
7-9
Therefore, God-of-the-Angel-Armies says:
“Watch this! I’ll melt them down
and see what they’re made of.
What else can I do
with a people this wicked?
Their tongues are poison arrows!
Deadly lies stream from their mouths.
Neighbor greets neighbor with a smile,
‘Good morning! How’re things?’
while scheming to do away with him.
Do you think I’m going to stand around and do nothing?”
God’s Decree.
“Don’t you think I’ll take serious measures
against a people like this? Jer 9:2-9
Standing along with the others, and accusing the generation of all, new and old forms of evil, is an easy job that anyone can do. But a sincere reflection over the source of all there, would point to the one accuses is also guilty, and morally responsible for the presence of all forms of evil, spread up like huge pile of garbage. Who to blame, and who is going to admit the blame? And hence, let us all admit the collective responsibility, of failing to educate the children and youth towards God-fearing children, and law abiding citizens. Parents, Teachers, governments, the so-called owners of the various religious institutions, and all have failed in their holy duty of giving disciple and they staying role-models for the values they want to set and promote in the minds of the growing citizens and leaders of the next generation: So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Mt 5:19
Education is considered to be very important, and that is why plenty of insistence on studying, and studying the advance fields of information and technology and so on. O.K, education is done, high marks are scored, immediate placement before even completing the last semester, and campus interview, high salary, buying of desired gadgets, cars and flats, and the list grows with the rapid speed, where he or she who has achieved such heights, do not attend any religious ceremonies, no respect or gratitude towards parents, teachers or the society that nurtured him, or her to this level. the question of agitation comes, with great anger as to why responsibility towards society, the downtrodden, to the poor and the others who can not come up to this level. This arrogant child should know that he can not eat computer or his credit card, debit card, or no card. You need a whole lot of people, who are off stage, whose sweat and blood, comes in the form of fish and bread, rice and fruits, grains and milk etc, added to that the dress you wear, the road you take, the electricity, the water supply, the plumping, painting etc and the whole lot of people who you disregard, or disrespect are cheerfully offering their invaluable time and labour to the uncouth, who asks questions about his moral responsibility, and this kids needs to take a lesson on anthropology. It is almost time to wind up, before closing a few things to add—we have prioritized educating the head too much, to the extend of forgetting to educate the heart, from which should flow love, friendship, compassion, forgiveness, generosity, charity and so on. Let us protect our children form the pollution of internet, entertainment, and media and social networkings. Educate them of the dangers of the possible harm that would endanger their lives. A few quotations in support of once again teaching the listeners of the importance of discipline in the life of children, and that again is the moral responsibility of parents, teachers, religious organizations and so on.
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Eph 6:4
24 Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them. Prov 13:24
6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Prov 22:6
15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom, but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother. Prov 29:15
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
“If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gate of the place where he lives, and they shall say to the elders of his city, ‘This our son is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall purge the evil from your midst, and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
May we realize the holy duty of imparting discipline to the children and the youth.
Abba, Thank You for reminding us of the moral responsibility of disciplining our children. Let Your Spirit guide us to discipline with love, wisdom and forgiveness. In Jesus’ Most Wonderful Name, Amen.
